ABOUT
Ben Cooper is a filmmaker, editor, and documentary archival producer based in New York City. His editing portfolio includes scripted, nonfiction, and experimental work and has been featured in the American Documentary and Animation Film Festival and New York Latino Film Festival, among others.
As an archival producer, associate producer, researcher, and assistant editor, Ben has worked on numerous documentary projects, including from Story Syndicate, Jigsaw Productions, Stick Figure Productions, and Cabin Creek Films, with distribution from HBO, PBS, Paramount+, Apple Original Films, The History Channel, and more. He is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts where he double-majored in Film & Television and American History.
With his spouse and creative collaborator, Payton McCarty-Simas, he produces short experimental works under the Egg White Films banner, often focused on inscrutable personalities, long strange trips, and archival rabbit holes. They live on the Upper West Side with their cat, Shirley Jackson. You can find Ben in Riverside Park, Tal Bagels, or (where else?) at the movies.
